Popcorn . . . Check! Reserved recliner theater chair . . . Check! Adult beverage that I didn't have to sneak into the theater . . . Double Check!

Yep, everything was set for viewing a highly anticipated sequel to a movie that I truly loved and marked as one of my favorite Zombie movies. That was until the first 15 minutes of the movie had been viewed. My excitement and anticipation had dropped so much so that I began to dread the remaining 1 hour and 24 minutes.

That was until freezer chick arrived on screen. Madison, played by the hilarious Zoey Deutch, flipped a switch in Double Tap that set this film right back on track. The reason? In my humble opinion the first stretch of the film spends a bit too much time telling us what the gang has been up to. Of course I realize that there is a need to fill a 10 year gap that has passed since the last time we saw our favorite Zombie slayers . . . but it was enough to cause concern.

That being said, once Madison arrives, Little Rock bails on Wichita, and the audience says "get on with it" we do indeed get on with it.

It's the humor combined with the walking dead that makes this film work. And how about a doppelganger of a twist? Are you a fan of Seinfeld? I was immediately reminded of the episode where Elaine finds a new set of friends eerily similar to the Seinfeld gang . . . bizarro world Jerry. Yep, in Double Tap we get a look at Tallahassee and Columbus's doppelganer . . . Albuquerque and Flagstaff toting their Commandments over Rules in a Monster Truck. Luke Wilson and Thomas Middleditch seemed the perfect balance to Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg.

The laughs and Zombie kills do not disappoint and the film finds it's humor through to the end. We can leave the movie, our need for Zombie feasting on flesh complete, and our love for Bill Murray solidified.
